The most common questions and answers

The most important answers before refurbishing a yacht.

  1. Do you perform such work? – If the work is related to the yacht then we or our subcontractors will carry out the order.
  2. How much will it cost? – The quote and the contract we enter into with the client is the most important foundation of our cooperation. Each time it is necessary to inspect the unit and discuss the order in detail
  3. What if I only want to know the estimated costs? – Then send an email with photos and as detailed a description of the order as possible. On this basis, we will send an estimate of the cost, usually in the form of a price range (e.g., about 2-3 thousand net or 50-80 thousand net).
  4. Can I pay in another currency? – Yes we have an account in euros.
  5. What if I want an accurate quote? – We will provide available dates for the inspection and send an invoice for the execution of the quotation, which covers the cost of travel to the inspection site and the time spent on the calculation. In this case, 1.15zl/per km of travel and 150zl for each hour (usually 300-1500zl) Within 14 days after the inspection, we will send a stiff quote for the work, along with the available time for the work.
  6. What if I don’t accept the quote or decide to accept part of it? – If you decide on at least 50% (refers to the amount of the quote, not the number of works) of the works discussed during the inspection, then the cost of performing the bid will be included in the down payment.
  7. What if I don’t want a contract or a quote? – Not with us, not with us. Lack of contracts, lack of deadlines, lack of any certainty of what will be done, when and for how much is not our standard.
  8. What if I have a small job, replacement, hatch, door repair, vent installation. Do I need to have a contract and a full quote? – For small jobs of a few hours or so, we provide an abbreviated quotation sent in the mail. After written response and approval, we execute the order and settle on the day of acceptance.
  9. Can I have the service performed at my marina? – Yes, but you will cover all travel costs. It’s usually better to pay boatbuilders to work on a yacht than to drive a car. The stakes are the same
  10. How will I know how the work on the yacht is progressing? – We always send shipowners a report on the work with photos every month during longer renovations at the rarest. During the course of the work, we are also in constant contact to keep you informed of any difficulties that arise or possible solutions. Renovations are often fraught with secrets hidden under a visible layer. In such cases, we always consult with shipowners looking for the best solutions.
  11. What are the hourly rates? – Each job is priced as the amount of labor and materials. We don’t work by the hour or by square meters or running meters. This is a matter within the brigade.
  12. Can I provide my own material? Yes, but this is included in the contract, and we as a contractor do not take any responsibility for the result of the work or give any guarantee.
  13. I have a renovation/work/construction project started. Can you finish or improve it? – No, “Article 22 of the guild law clearly states – Work by a part-timer which against the present establishment has been started, no Magister is to correct or finish it, under penalty of three-fourteen fines to the Guild chest.” Nothing is as costly as corrections after part-timers. We can quote for removal and redo. It’s a different case then.
  14. Do you give guarantees on your works? – Yes, usually two years (that’s what the manufacturers of the materials we use give). However, we provide a lifetime warranty for gluing teak planchets to the deck.
