We still happen to perform “traditional greting”. Traditional is in quotation marks because it does not cover the cubicle or the hold and usually goes into the cockpit, the bow or stern platform, or, as in this case, the shower in the yacht’s bathroom. So only the construction (albeit glued) is traditional. The thicker slats rest on the frame and provide support for the thinner ones running perpendicular to them. Everything is flush with each other to achieve a flat top surface.
Making greting with this method is very labor-intensive, but it is a solid proven construction that will do its job for years.
