The feast of the three kings is approaching, and for some it’s time to get rid of the Christmas tree. In order to make it before the deadline I am uploading a “boatbuilding Christmas tree” 😉 As you can easily guess it’s the bottoms. They come from the small motorboat already cited in the comments. The patient, in a weak but stable condition, ended up in our hands and is expected to swim until spring. It bears numerous signs of amateur repairs and is interesting for several reasons that I will return to in SFzW.
The bottoms themselves were removed and made anew from oak. The original ones were made of larch of mediocre quality…. I will add that the construction is Swedish, shipbuilding.
And finally, a question for photo No.2
Better screwed nail or driven screw?
