A small order involving the reworking of the box steps, which are also the front casing of the engine. Originally closed with four candahar type fasteners. The problem was that once unfastened, the stairs had to be put away somewhere to get to the engine and bilge. From the shipowner’s account, it was clear that these stairs, unfastened during the voyage at considerable rocking, wanted to return to their former place at all costs. Disregarding anyone who happens to be in their way.
\nIn order to prevent the stairs from scrubbing the floor, it was necessary to shorten the entire box, make a plinth, set new hinges and fasteners. In the course of the work, the idea arose to remove the carpet located on the steps and cover them with varnish and, to maintain adhesion, embed two strips of rubber.
\nUnder the carpet, a surprise! Steps with white that tarnished the appearance of the whole development. Fortunately, there is a 2.5mm thick mahogany veneer in our workshop and the steps came out quite elegantly. The most important thing is that now access to the engine is fast, safe and convenient.<\/p>\n<\/div>
